The 469 comes from 435 U.S. Representatives + 34 U.S. Senators, the incumbents whose
performance evaluation we get to conduct in November 2010.
In fairness to incumbents, this need not be adversarial. It isn't aimed at you personally,
we just want improved performance from our employees. The debt you have been running
up is grossly irresponsible and it's killing our economy. We want it fixed productively,
and we distinctly recall having told you this on numerous occasions.
We are now running out of time, and you haven't gotten the message through informal
performance counseling, so we need to move to the formal stage of corrective action.
You are perfectly free to voluntarily adopt these Win-Win solutions right now, and then
our goal will be accomplished by replacing your current performance with your own
genuine change of heart. Failing that voluntary self-improvement on your part, we will
administer corrective action through the ballot box.
